I started painting with oils ten years ago, following a successful career as a graphic designer and business owner in the North East. During this time I have been influenced by the evocative landscapes of the Lake District and Northumberland.I am passionate about the texture, movement and layered approach to oil painting. I love capturing the light and shadows of a landscape, the little glimpses of sunlight through the trees or the clouds reflected on the side of a mountain. Living in the Lake District has enabled me to combine a love of nature with my passion for painting, by walking the fells or kayaking on the lakes to capture the dramatic landscape.
